Hello and welcome to my website. Here you will find a variety of items for your reading enjoyment. I have three blogs - well, I have one and I help two of my dear friends with their blogs. Their names are Sleepy Bear and Moosey-Moose. I also have a page with a few writing samples and my works in progress. I am very excited to share my love of reading and writing with everyone who visits my website.
Sleepy Bear's Blog
Sleepy Bear is a very smart bear. He's a little shy but he has a very big heart. And he loves to read! Each month he hosts a book club for kids. He likes to get ideas for books to read from kids who write to him. So, send him your comments and suggestions at SleepyBearWrites.blogspot.com.
Moosey-Moose's Blog
Moosey-Moose is more adventurous. He loves to travel and try out new things. His curious habits often cause him to get stuck in tricky situations. But he learns to problem solve and learns important lessons along the way. I know he would love to hear from you so go to his blog and leave him a comment at MooseyMooseWrites.blogspot.com.
Monthly Literacy Events and Topics
Parents, don't worry, I also have a blog for you, too! Every month I will post new tips on how to improve your child’s reading fluency, comprehension or writing. I also have a list of suggested books for a variety of readers and websites that I find to be very resourceful. You can go directly to my blog at KathleenHunterWrites.blogspot.com. Writings: I've just posted chapter 1 from my early reader chapter book, Moosey-Moose Goes On An Adventure. The morning his adopted family is planning to move away from the old neighborhood, an adventurous stuffed moose named Moosey-Moose ignores instructions to stay close to home and goes on a scavenger hunt. Unfortunately, he returns just in time to see the big orange moving truck drive away with his best friend, Sleepy Bear, waving good bye from the back window! This is one of Moosey-Moose’s biggest MOOPS! ever. To add to Moosey-Moose’s dilemma, he knows only part of his new address – something about state and capital. Thus begins Moosey-Moose’s adventure to reunite with Sleepy Bear and his adopted family. He travels by bus, ship, eagle, train, and hoof to the state capital. Along the way he makes all kinds of strange friends and even stranger enemies. Let me know your thoughts. I would love to hear from you at Kathleen@KathleenHunterWrites.com.
